Josh ArnoldJosh Arnold’s music is commercial and infectious yet maintains an artistic integrity.  His eclectic Pop/Rock style has been the result of almost a decade of musical endeavors with his collaborator and studio partner Jason Millhouse. Through the aid of this extremely versatile musician and engineer, Josh’s songwriting is embellished with impeccable and inspirational production.  The pair have a mutual respect, understanding and ability to build on a song and unleash its full potential.  Jason and Josh have been working together since 2002 and have developed a sixth sense when it comes to their working relationship in the studio, and it shows in their most recent recordings.

Their journey began back in 2002 when Jason engineered one of Josh’s earliest Albums entitled “Scarifier” released by the ABC/Roots record label.  Resting unsteadily on the fringes of country, rock and swamp, the Album received some airplay on Triple J but inevitably fell through the cracks.

In 2005 Josh’s songwriting approach and style had mellowed with a far cleaner and more mainstream sounding Album entitled “Fire in the Sun”, also released under the ABC/Roots label.  The Album received much praise in the press.  The songs received airplay on Triple J , Nova FM and Hot FM as well as featuring in 3 of Australia’s leading TV Drama’s Neigbours, Home and Away and City Homicide.  This Album also spawned the beginning of another creative partnership between Josh and Jason with the creation of their first Music Video together which was played on Music Max and Rage.

After being released from ABC/Roots Music and ABC Music Publishing the pair embarked on countless musical ventures from Electronic to Hard Rock to Acoustic Pop.  The latter of these styles included a bare bones song called “Skeletons” which drew the attention of the LA Music Supervision company “Crucial Music” who synced the track on the world renowned TV Hit Series Ghost Whisperer.

Then in 2009 Josh and Jason both teamed up to co-write and produce on several projects including the powerful song “Alive” for the National Drive For Life Organization as well as completing an Album for Aboriginal songwriter, Robert Wharton.  Josh wrote and performed on the classic Reggae/Roots song from the LP entitled “Dreaming” which has since received national regional airplay.

The culmination of all these musical ventures and the journey to date has brought Josh and Jason to their most recent recordings and Music Video’s including the haunting “Bad Weather” and the brutally honest and powerful “Alive”.  They have never felt more comfortable with their sound and direction.  Their understated confidence and natural flare for melody, lyrics and production has helped them create a unique brand of music that is uncompromising and thought provoking yet instantly appealing and accessible.
